Update: Turns out she just washed her hands and, though she could've done a better job cleaning it up, it's not a big deal. It is here because the situation was mildly infuriating to me and I wanted to share it. I'm already over it and all is well.

Final Update: My in-laws are very kind and generous people. They're also extremely helpful and proactive. I love them and they make me feel loved, I just wish they'd stop putting things down my sink. I've watched too many snaking videos.

I literally had to do a double take when the self checkout machine gave me two of the new 2026 quarters in my change. I thought for a second someone had put fake coins into the machine.

I've had one customer tell me not to give him attitude tonight and another try to convince me I had to take her cash because it's all she had (spoiler alert: in the US a store doesn't have to take your money, they can just decline to sell you anything. you haven't accrued a debt with them).

why did the man tell me not to give him attitude? he politely asked if I had change for $100. I said no. i watched him walk and grab the cheapest item we have, and I asked him "are you going to use $100 to pay for that?" "yes" "I'm sorry, I don't have change for that type of money."

it is almost 3am. I don't know any place stupid enough to have change for $100 open at this hour. most places are actually trying not to get robbed.

I opened a tab to shop for a WD Red Plus 8TB HDD for my NAS. Found a great deal on Walmart for $259. I opened a second tab to confirm some other specs and configs, and when I returned to the Walmart tab to purchase the HDD, the price jumped to $369 (first screenshot). I saw Amazon increased the price of the same drive yesterday and thought maybe Walmart did the same, and that I had just missed the pricing window. I asked my wife to search for the same item and she was able to purchase it at the $259 price (second screenshot). This is disgusting anti-consumer behavior.

This is a court document about a petition for my father to be able to see me while he was in prison. The wording of it makes it seem like it was me, who was serving prison time. Even though i would've only been 10 years old at the time, could still lead to sone misconceptions at firsr glance to a tone who decides to google me. And to make it even worse, when you actually click the document, all names are redacted, making it a bit harder to peice the truth together.

The other windows are covered in “Senior 2027” decorations, so I’m assuming this person is, in fact, going to graduate. I guess English class wasn’t required.

Mum tried to do a nice thing by putting these cans of (my favourite) drinks in my mini fridge.

If you flip the switch one way, it works as a fridge. If you flip it the other, it warms things up. Guess which way she flipped the switch?

Edit: I wanna say that I fully recognise she was only doing a nice thing, as I said at the start. The mildly infuriating part is the fact that there is a hot switch at all, and I have 2 less cans of my favourite drink (first world problems, I know). Obviously I'll be cleaning it up. Mmmmm, warm Dr Pepper

Edit part 2: Wow. Learnt a lot about peltier coolers today. Apparently they use as much power as a normal fridge. The more you know. (I only usually have it turned on when I have cans to put in there, aka it's not constantly running)

I'd love to have a normal sized mini fridge, but I don't currently have the space in my room.
