Vent and rants Why do lots of people use "ahh" instead of "ass?"

Ass was supposed to mean "as sh*t," like "dumb as sh*t," not a really stupid butt. It's all about the meaning, but what would "ahh" stand for then? Ahs heck? Just always wondered why people would avoid saying it when the meaning was the exact same.
