Today on my way to work I found a cute surprise waiting outside my apartment door. This little girl was by the door and as soon as she saw me she started meowing and also looked very scared. At first I thought she would run away if I approved her but she didn’t. My first thought was is one of my neighbors cat so I look around and got lost. As I go back inside to get some water for her she runs inside my apartment and hides. I was already running late for work after spending with her more than 20 minutes.
I bright cat food from petco and water and made a temporary little box for her and left her alone for a while why I went to work with the hope she’ll relax and loosen up a bit.
When I came back home she was still in the same place I left her. No pee no poo. Didn’t even tried to touch the food. It’s late at night and I’m planning to take her to the vet tomorrow morning but I’m worry she might be dehydrated. She is still scared. She let me hold her and lift her without a fight. Her hair looks like she has been groomed lately but maybe she has been lost for a few days. I’m concerned she might be injured 🤕 internally.
I bought lockable cat treats and put them in her mouth and she still didn’t even like it.

I’ve never had cats before. I need some advise and help please.

We lost our sweet Electra girl this morning. My wife adopted her as a kitten when she moved here in 2007, and they came as a package deal when I met her 6 months later. I made out like a bandit with that one.

She was sweet and feisty and loving up until the end, and the home just feels empty without her. I know she lived a long and happy life, but that doesn’t make the hurt any easier right now.

My kitten Aaliyah is about 9 weeks old and she’s the world to me and i’ve only had her for a week. I don’t even like leaving her when I go to work (I go home during my lunch break to cuddle or play with her). I am a first time pet owner so if anyone has any advice for a first time cat mom (pet insurance, desensitization, training, vaccines, automatic cat litter recommendations etc.) I’m all ears. But I love her so much I really feel like I birthed her and just wanted to show her off 🥹

A couple years ago he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. I had to take him to the emergency vet on Thanksgiving 2024. We were unsure if I'd be able to bring him home. All I wanted was to bring him home and cuddle him for one more day. This strong boy gave me and his brother almost two whole years.

CDS has taken too long so I took matters into my own hands and adopted this 16 week old scraggly black tabby. He will do for an hour straight if I don’t stop him. What does it mean ?

Hey everyone. I had to bring my cat into the emergency vet today with a suspected urinary blockage. If you could share your cat’s recovery stories and keep my boy in your thoughts, it would be much appreciated.

Hes 9 years old, a drama queen, and incredibly smart. He LOVES puzzles. Mostly because hes so food motivated. I got him when I lived in North Dakota, and he had just been brought in that day, and had been neutered. He palmed a chicken nugget out of my hand when we brought him home. And that boy has been obsessed with poultry ever since.

Ps. This flair doesn’t feel right but it’s more medical related than anything.

UPDATE: The vet said she does not suspect a blockage but is concerned about his behavior leading us to bring him in. Since he’s so spicy he will need to be sedated to run test but we are hopeful this helps us indicate any underlying problems. I also know the vet who is his charge and she is one of the best vets I know personally. Feeling a little relieved that it wasn’t a blockage but nervous about sedation. May he cone home soon. 🩷

UPDATE 2: My baby boy is coming home!! We don’t have results on his tests yet (should be in 2-3 days) and we are hoping for some answers. Thank you for all of the love you showed my boy.

Happy as can be. My only experience has been with ferals. This guy has been socialized since found at 4 weeks by his foster family. He acted like he owned the place 5 minutes after arriving. I’m over the moon.

Took Lou to the vet, she has no chip, got all her vaccines. We learned she's around 6-8 months old! She's officially staying :) She's been with us for 2 weeks now.

lilo's my 7yr old puppy (yes puppy), she's being super chill about lou, she grew up with our late cat mimi who was also a calico, we miss Mimi a lot.

New York City's had some crazy heat/wind/storm weather lately so I'm glad I was able to get Lou off the streets. Money's still tight and my bank account took a hit w the vet bill, but i'm sure this feels like a 5 star hotel compared to where she was.
